The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time

The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time Playing around in their backyard was a rite of passage that Scotty and his six brothers and sisters did during their hot summer days in Little Rock, Ark. Fifteen years ago, one of those days ended in tragedy for Scotty and his family. Playing tag, and joyfully oblivious to his surroundings, Scotty ran into the neighbor's yard, where a construction project was underway. Flying debris from the roof broke Scotty's leg. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Months later and after several casts, Scotty recovered. But his parents had reservations. What if in the future, his injuries caused medical problems that required more care and therapy? How would they pay for this care?

As a result, they brought a suit against the contractor, and a settlement was made between the two parties that would provide Scotty lump-sum payments when he turned 18, 21 and 24.

Today, Scotty is 19 years old, lives on his own, and is continuing his education so that he can get a good full-time job. He is a busy young man and the accident so long ago just a faded memory. In 2006, he received his first lump sum. It helped, but it was not enough for him. He really needed a car so that he could get to work and his classes on time. If Scotty was going to achieve his goals, he needed more cash, and he needed it now.

Luckily, Scotty saw a commercial for J.G. Wentworth. He called right away and learned that he could sell his remaining lump sums and receive cash. Scotty thought it over and the answer was clear: this was the best way for him to be able to purchase a car and move his life forward. "I had a great experience with J.G. Wentworth. My rep was very knowledgeable and was a tremendous help with my transaction," exclaimed Scotty. With help from J.G. Wentworth, he now owns a car and is able to take himself wherever he needs to go.
