Man's Best Friend

Hi everyone.  J.G. Wentworth here.

Though I like to think about structured settlements, some of the fondest memories that I have are associated with the many dogs I’ve owned during my lifetime.  I think the fact that dogs don’t talk and wag their tails a lot accounts for the lasting memories they make on almost all of us.

Growing up, we had a Beagle named Chester.  He’d lay in the hallway by the front door like the Sphinx.  He thought he owned the place.  Then I had a mutt in college, and it must be true that mixing up the gene pool breeds intelligence because Lucky was the smartest dog I ever had.  He also loved living in a fraternity.  Go figure.

Then just recently I met a dog – not a pet of mine, but someone else’s beloved friend.  She was truly amazing.  It seemed that her master Eddie and Eddie’s mom were going to lose the ranch.  Eddie’s mom had structured settlement payments, but needed more cash right away . . .  Oh heck, this commercial tells the story better than I can.  Take a look.

It’s a pretty amazing story.  Part of the reason is that you don’t expect dogs to have so much insight and intelligence.  But they do, which is what makes them such amazing animals.
